Measurements can be taken to assess the motion of an axis perpendicular to its principle motion with the Straightness measurement equipment. Two versions of the optics can be used the Short Range set for measurement up to 3m (120") and the Long Range set for measurements up to 30m (100') with a reduced resolution. Linear parallelism can be assessed using the straightness measurement equipment, for example co-linear axes such as horizontal boring machines with a quill.
