5529 Laser Interferometer

System

 

 

The 5529 Laser System which has now been superseded by the 5530 Laser System included most basic components needed to make machine tool calibrations. Users could add the Agilent / Hewlett Packard optics kits needed to make specific measurements. The items included in the Basic System are listed below

Basic Laser System

Laser Head. 0.7m/s 5519A

The laser head provides both laser source and detector. This connects via a cable to the data capture PC. The 5519A can be replaced with the 5519B laser head enabling higher measurement velocity (1.0 m/s).

PC Calibrator Board with Software and Encoder Input Cable.

10887B

The PC Calibrator Board is the interface between the Laser head and the PC. It is mounted either in data acquisition PC or in the USB Expansion Module (55292A) allowing connection to laptop computer, powerful windows software is also supplied.

PC Material Compensation / Wavelength Of Light  Board.

10886A

The PC Material Compensation / W O L Board is the interface between the air sensor and material sensors. These sensors monitor the air conditions and the material temperature at up to 3 positions to enable accurate corrections to be applied to the wavelength of light. These measurements compensate for environmental changes during measurements.

Remote Control. 10888A

The Remote Control connects to the PC calibrator board to enable measurements to be taken remotely at the push of a button .

Air Sensor with 5m Cable. 10751C

The Air Sensor monitors the temperature and air pressure of the surrounding environment allowing the appropriate wavelength of light corrections to be applied.

Material Temperature Sensor with 15m Cable. 10757E

Material Temperature Sensor for measurement of material temperature allowing the appropriate thermal corrections to be applied, a magnet holds the sensor in contact with the material surface. Up to 2 additional sensors can be added with varying cable lengths to monitor material temperature across a structure..

Laser Head Cable 7m. 10882B

Cable used to connect the laser to the PC calibrator board. Alternative lengths can be supplied 

Tripod. 10753B

Supports the laser head. The tripod can be adjusted vertically and horizontally as well as angularly in these planes to aid easy laser alignment

Case for Laser Head and Optics.

10786S

Durable ABS transit case to transport and protect laser head Cables and Optics. The optional 10787S case can be used for the transit of the tripod, material and air sensors and other accessories.

 

The following optics and kits can be added to the system to enable differing measurements to be made. These kits are all fully compatible with the Hewlett Packard 5529A and 5528A laser systems.

Transit Case

10787S

Durable and robust ABS transit case to transport and protect tripod, air and material sensors, fixturing etc. When used in conjunction with 10786S the whole laser system except the PC can be transported in just two cases, by land, sea, or air wit no additional packaging.

The Fixturing Kit

10744A

The Fixturing Kit contains extra posts plates etc. to enable more options for mounting laser optics. This kit can be used to build a rigid structure that helps to calibrate in the centre of the work zone to avoid abbe´ errors.

USB Expansion Module 55292A

The USB Expansion Module accepts a 10887B calibration board a 10886A compensation board providing a USB interface to the Agilent / Hewlett Packard laser system.

Upgrade Kit

5529U

The Upgrade Kit is used to upgrade the 5528A system, includes adapter cables, software and PC boards. Uses the Hewlett Packard 5518A laser head and any Agilent calibrator optics (5526A, 5528A and 5529A).

Lightweight Reflector

10767B

The lightweight reflector weighs 41 grams (1.4 oz.).It is specifically for applications that are weight sensitive, such as CMM calibration.

Material Temperature Sensors

Addition material temperature sensors can be added (up to a maximum of 3). The use of 3 temperature sensors allows a more realistic measurement of the machine temperature to be taken as the sensors can be distributed over the machine structure.
